OUTDOOR PURSUITS
With over 150 miles of tracks on the estate there are routes to appeal to all standards of mountain bikers. Among the most challenging short routes is the path to the Fyrish Monument, an ascent of 1200 feet over 2 miles.

For the less adventurous, other routes can be suggested to guests at Ardtalla with the chance of spotting red squirrels or even capercaillie en route.

Equipment can be provided and guiding can be arranged.

BIRDWATCHING
Novar Estate has a wide variety of habitats for wildlife, from arable farmland and grassland, mixed woodlands and moorland to wetland, rivers and lochs.

Birdwatching at Novar Estate in 3000 Acres of Forest
The 3000 acre over-mature coniferous forest is home to a substantial population of capercaillie and was consequently designated a Special Protection Area in 2005. 105 bird species have been recorded on the Estate including the crossbill, red-throated diver, red kite, golden eagle and osprey.
